About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse I for its Nursing Staffing & Scheduling department. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, and upholding established standards of nursing practice and performance. The ideal candidate will bring 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Overview

The Staff Nurse I is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while demonstrating leadership competencies, particularly when acting as a shift resource or team leader. This position requires adherence to core standards of patient care, established policies, and evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient unit operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide total patient care as assigned, adhering to core standards and evidence-based practices.
  • Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with Case Management to decrease patient length of stay and waiting times as per unit-specific goals.
  • Document all relevant patient information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
  • Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, and/or reduction of supply inventory to the Head Nurse or designee.
  • Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to achieve constant improvement in quality patient care.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and families.
  • Identify ideas to improve patient care quality and issues that could negatively affect patient care outcomes, utilizing the professional practice framework.
  • Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk.
  • Comply with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Contribute to the achievement of cost efficiency savings on the unit and maintain awareness of resource utilization.
  • Contribute to the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction.
  • Lead unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.

Professional Development and Mentorship

  • Participate in new staff and nursing student orientation to develop competence and performance.
  • Assist in maintaining a suitable learning environment and act as a preceptor/mentor in the supervision and teaching of nursing students and new staff.
  • Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
  • Contribute to special projects/assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and professional practice models.
  • Assist in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship in line with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in self and others' education, training, and development, as applicable.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin.
  • Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure is required.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant nursing role.

All Staff Nurses are expected to adhere strictly to all King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center policies and procedures, ensuring a consistent standard of care and operational excellence across the institution.
