About the Role

Nexa is seeking a Software Engineer AI & Systems to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is with an early-stage deep-tech company focused on building foundational technology across AI, systems, and hardware. The position is suited for engineers who prefer to own problems comprehensively rather than specializing in a single layer of development.

Role Context

The Software Engineer will work within a small, experienced engineering team. The expectation is to identify necessary solutions and implement them, rather than adhering to narrowly defined tasks. This role involves addressing complex problems across various technical domains, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and system development.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous technical problems from initial concept through architecture to production.
• Work across various technical areas including backend services, APIs, infrastructure, tooling, and lower-level systems.
• Develop internal tools designed to enhance the efficiency of the engineering team.
• Rapidly comprehend unfamiliar codebases and implement safe, production-quality modifications.
• Make technical decisions proactively without requiring fully defined requirements.
• Assume ownership of shipped products, including their reliability in production environments.
• Address problems that span software, distributed systems, AI infrastructure, and hardware.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple technical layers and problem domains.
• Experience with backend services, infrastructure, and system-level development.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and technical decision-making.
