Solar Technical Project Engineer

About the Role

Tarshid - National Energy Services Company is seeking a Solar Technical Project Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves developing detailed electrical designs for various solar PV systems, conducting feasibility studies, preparing technical specifications, and coordinating project execution. The position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs for utility-scale, commercial, and industrial solar PV systems.
• Perform load analysis, system sizing, cable sizing, circuit breaker sizing, and energy yield calculations using industry-standard tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or equivalent software.
• Create single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and layout drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Apply knowledge and assessment of LV, MV, and HV interconnection and design.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate solar resource potential and system compatibility.
• Analyze geographic, climatic, and shading factors to optimize design and performance.
• Prepare technical specifications for solar components such as inverters, modules, and mounting structures.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate vendor proposals and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Work closely with project managers, civil engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless execution of solar projects.
• Provide technical support during initiation, design, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure designs comply with local and international electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and relevant legislation.
• Recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement industry best practices for design and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant proven projects track record and history.

Experience and Skills

• 0-2 years of experience in a relevant role, preferably in the Solar Energy industry in the Middle East.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Good technical knowledge relating to solar systems.
