Structural CAD Draftsman

About the Role

Saudi Consulting Services (Saudconsult) is seeking an experienced Structural CAD Draftsman to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves preparing accurate structural and shop drawings for various construction projects, working closely with structural engineers to translate designs into detailed technical drawings.

Role Overview

As a Structural CAD Draftsman, you will be responsible for converting preliminary designs and sketches into precise digital drawings that adhere to approved specifications and building codes. Your work will encompass the full lifecycle of drawing preparation, from initial drafting to as-built documentation and revisions based on feedback from project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare structural and shop drawings for buildings and construction projects using AutoCAD.
• Draft foundation, column, beam, slab, and concrete wall drawings.
• Prepare rebar detailing and bar bending schedules.
• Prepare steel structure drawings and connection details as required.
• Coordinate structural drawings with architectural and MEP drawings to identify and resolve clashes.
• Convert hand sketches and preliminary designs into accurate digital drawings.
• Prepare As-Built drawings based on site data.
• Revise and update drawings based on feedback from engineers, consultants, and clients.
• Extract preliminary concrete and steel quantities as required.
• Ensure compliance with approved codes and standards, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and government authority requirements.
• Organize and archive drawings and files in accordance with the document control system.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering Drafting, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to read structural and architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Basic knowledge of rebar and reinforced concrete detailing.
