About Thrivve and the Role

Thrivve is developing a mobility ecosystem that provides flexible and sustainable access to vehicles, including through its Drive-to-Own model. The company is seeking a Supply Business Development Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to leading the growth, performance, and long-term development of Thrivve's vehicle supplier network. The manager will ensure the availability of appropriate vehicles from suitable partners, under optimal commercial terms, and at the scale required to meet annual growth targets, owning the complete supplier lifecycle from identification to retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver Thrivve’s annual vehicle acquisition and supply targets, translating them into quarterly and monthly plans.
  • Build a qualified supplier pipeline, forecast demand by various parameters, and identify potential supply gaps to develop alternative sourcing channels.
  • Identify, approach, negotiate with, onboard, and activate new vehicle suppliers, expanding the network across leasing companies, rental businesses, dealerships, distributors, fleet owners, and automotive groups.
  • Diversify the supplier base to reduce dependency and concentration risk, developing sourcing models that improve availability, flexibility, pricing, and commercial efficiency.
  • Build strategic relationships with authorized dealerships, distributors, and major automotive groups, negotiating vehicle allocations, fleet pricing, volume discounts, and preferred terms.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers, managing relationships, conducting regular performance reviews, and developing strategic account plans.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for supplier-related issues, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely resolution and addressing root causes of recurring problems.
  • Monitor commercial and operational supplier KPIs, tracking vehicle allocation, availability, activation, and utilization, and developing improvement or growth plans based on performance data.
  • Manage and develop the supply relationship team as the function expands, building scalable processes for supplier acquisition, onboarding, and performance management.

Performance Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by key performance indicators across several areas:

  • Achievement of annual, quarterly, and monthly vehicle acquisition targets, including the number of vehicles acquired and activated.
  • Coverage of supplier pipeline against upcoming requirements and overall supply-to-demand alignment.
  • Expansion of the supplier network, measured by new suppliers onboarded, total active suppliers, and diversification across geographies and vehicle categories.
  • Effectiveness of dealership development, including active partnerships, recurring vehicle allocations secured, and commercial savings achieved.
  • Supplier retention, satisfaction, growth in allocation from existing partners, and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Operational performance metrics such as vehicle utilization, delivery, cancellation rates, bookings, and conversion performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in business development, supply management, partnerships, account management, fleet, or operations.
  • Demonstrated experience within vehicle leasing, car rental, automotive dealerships, authorized distributors, fleet management, or a related mobility sector.
  • Strong understanding of Saudi Arabia’s automotive, dealership, leasing, rental, and fleet ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to identify, negotiate with, onboard, and develop strategic suppliers.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills covering pricing, allocation, payment structures, and partnership terms.
  • Experience managing vehicle acquisition, fleet supply, or a large supplier portfolio is highly preferred.
  • Strong ground-operations experience and a willingness to work directly with supplier teams.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, escalation management, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple partners, opportunities, and operational priorities effectively.
  • Strong cross-functional stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Previous experience managing or developing a team is preferred.
  • A data-driven and commercially minded approach.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of automotive industry relationships, commercial judgment, business development acumen, and hands-on operational execution skills. This role requires an individual capable of negotiating with senior automotive executives, engaging with fleet operations, resolving urgent supplier issues, analyzing performance data, and coordinating internal teams to deliver on commitments. A key understanding is that a signed agreement marks the beginning of a partnership, requiring ownership until it yields tangible vehicle allocation, activation, utilization, and sustainable growth.
