Role Summary

The Assistant Manager Governance will be responsible for executing governance delivery for an assigned corporate portfolio. This role involves maintaining governance structures, ensuring policy compliance, and managing delegation of authority arrangements to support transparent decision-making, accountability, and adherence to approved authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review governance arrangements, including committee support, decision rights, and governance calendars within the assigned scope.
  • Track policy adoption, review dates, and exceptions to ensure compliance within the assigned portfolio.
  • Verify delegation of authority schedules against approved limits for the assigned portfolio.
  • Review governance committee papers, agendas, minutes, and decision logs to ensure required standards are met.
  • Prepare and maintain complete and auditable governance records and registers.
  • Review conflict of interest and disclosure declarations within the assigned portfolio.
  • Prepare governance compliance reports and escalate deviations to the section leader.
  • Support the development of governance guidance and templates tailored to portfolio requirements.
  • Prepare governance assessments and maturity reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Legal Division on portfolio-level statutory matters.
  • Maintain records of governance compliance, status, and outstanding actions.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all outputs before submission.

Self-Management and Professional Development

  • Execute performance objectives by planning work, tracking progress, and updating the reporting manager on achievements and risks.
  • Develop and review a personal development plan in consultation with the manager, addressing capability gaps.
  • Analyze feedback to improve work quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain current knowledge of professional practices, standards, and systems through continuous learning.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, managing time and priorities.
  • Demonstrate accountability by adhering to RSG policies, meeting deadlines, and escalating issues constructively.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English.
  • Experience in corporate governance framework design and committee secretariat management.
  • Knowledge of policy architecture, delegation of authority, and governance maturity assessment.
  • Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and structured decision-making abilities.
