About the Role

Panda Retail Company – Savola Group is seeking a Buyer, Fresh Food - Produce - Central to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role is central to supporting Super Store operations by managing product selection, purchasing, and ensuring consistent stock availability. The Buyer plays a critical part in maintaining product flow, optimizing cost efficiency, and upholding quality standards across the stores.

Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient procurement and supply of fresh food produce. The Buyer analyzes sales trends and coordinates replenishment activities to prevent shortages and improve product availability. By working closely with various internal and external stakeholders, the Buyer directly contributes to enhanced sales performance and customer satisfaction within the Super Store network.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze store demand trends and sales data to inform procurement decisions and determine required product quantities.
• Coordinate with suppliers to secure product availability and establish reliable delivery schedules, maintaining consistent stock levels.
• Negotiate purchasing terms, prices, and delivery conditions to optimize cost efficiency and support profitability targets.
• Evaluate supplier performance to identify areas for improvement or potential risks, ensuring product quality and a dependable supply chain.
• Monitor inventory levels and address replenishment exceptions to manage shortages or overstock situations, thereby maintaining operational stability.
• Collaborate with store teams and the supply chain department to align procurement plans with operational requirements for smooth execution.
• Verify product specifications, packaging standards, and compliance requirements to ensure all purchased items meet company guidelines.
• Prepare comprehensive purchasing reports and cost analyses to provide visibility on procurement performance and support data-driven decision-making.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

This role requires extensive collaboration with various internal departments, including store teams, supply chain, and commercial functions. The Buyer will also manage relationships with external suppliers, ensuring effective communication and negotiation to achieve optimal purchasing outcomes. This integrated approach is crucial for preventing stock issues and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a buying or procurement role, preferably within the fresh food or produce sector.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze sales trends and demand data for effective procurement planning.
• Proven negotiation skills with a focus on optimizing cost efficiency and securing favorable terms.
• Experience in supplier performance evaluation and inventory management.
