About the Commercial Operations Specialist CSM Role

Veolia | Water Tech is seeking a Commercial Operations Specialist CSM to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading commercial operations, managing contracts, and supporting sales teams to ensure efficient and compliant deal execution within the water industry and speciality chemicals segment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of contract management, including risk management, specification compliance, transactional pricing, customer negotiations, communications, and issue resolution.
  • Lead the transactional deal process, structuring commercially and technically sound deals and managing associated contractual issues.
  • Interface with various functions such as product applications, sourcing, supply chain, finance, treasury, legal, and insurance to ensure viable and competitive deals.
  • Provide leadership during the deal review process to ensure technical risk points, mitigation strategies, and business risk acceptance levels are incorporated into scope, cost, and proposal wording.
  • Ensure accurate costing for complex, large, or Key Account deals not managed by commercial tools (*, SFDC, iDeal).
  • Lead and manage the execution of price agreement renewals, adhering to DoA, renewal guidelines, profitability, and account expiration.
  • Train sales teams on pricing methodologies, best practices, and agreement renewal processes.
  • Train the sales team on Salesforce (SFDC) CRM usage and drive data input accuracy to enhance revenue forecasts.
  • Leverage SFDC to ensure rigor in the deal development cycle and work with the sales team on data integrity and SFDC process adherence.
  • Support the Sales Team in finalizing and maintaining Distributor Agreements.
  • Maintain the Pricing & Win/Loss Database across all applications to facilitate future bid submissions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales, engineering, or risk management position.
  • Experience in the Water Industry and/or with the Speciality Chemicals Segment.
  • Ability to travel regionally (less than 15% of the time).

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Sales & Commercial Acumen: Strong background in sales, engineering, or risk management with proven ability to manage complex deals. Ability to translate high-level sales strategies into system and process requirements, ensuring local execution and business impact.
  • Leadership & Influence: Ability to provide direction, drive positive change with an end-to-end and enterprise mindset, proactively innovate, prioritize, and collaborate in a matrixed environment.
  • Compliance: Proven risk awareness, ensuring adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements, and developing processes for risk minimization and continuous improvement.
  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders. Understanding of management principles to select, develop, and manage teams, and effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities.
  • Domain Expertise: Experience reviewing terms and conditions and negotiating agreements. Understanding of water and process chemical solutions, pricing structures, and ITO processes. Comfortable leveraging tools and systems such as SFDC, SAP, Tableau, and Price Quote Tools.
