About ENGIE Solutions Middle East and the Role

ENGIE Solutions Middle East is seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to ensuring the continuous operation and efficiency of critical data center infrastructure.

Role Summary

The Data Center Electrical Engineer manages the 24/7 power reliability, maintenance, and overall efficiency of critical electrical infrastructure. This involves direct oversight of medium and low-voltage distribution systems, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, backup generators, and adherence to comprehensive electrical safety protocols to achieve maximum uptime and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of electrical systems including MV/LV systems, transformers, generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), UPS, batteries, switchgear, Power Distribution Units (PDU)/Remote Power Panels (RPP), busway, and general power distribution systems.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, developing and preparing Method of Procedures (MOPs) in strict compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines.
  • Perform authorized switching operations, system shutdown/startup sequences, electrical isolation, restoration procedures, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) activities.
  • Supervise the work of electrical technicians and coordinate effectively with OEMs and external vendors for major maintenance projects and in response to equipment failures.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, providing support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing subsequent corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage critical spare parts inventory, necessary tools, testing equipment, and maintain accurate calibration records.

Operational Standards and Documentation

  • Ensure continuous compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), MOPs, Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and all specific site procedures.
  • Execute approved changes to electrical systems and ensure all technical documentation is properly maintained and updated.
  • Support testing, commissioning processes, equipment performance reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the data center environment.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role must possess 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on critical infrastructure or data center environments.
