Director, Research and Analysis

Mackenzie Jones Middle East is supporting a global bank in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in their search for a Director – Research and Analysis. This full-time position is critical for leading high-impact research and delivering strategic insights across emerging markets, with a significant focus on the MENA region.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding the bank's analytical capabilities, particularly in country risk and sector analysis. This leadership position requires a professional with over 10 years of experience, dedicated to informing strategic decisions and identifying business growth opportunities within complex financial landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead country risk and sector analysis across emerging markets, with a primary focus on the MENA region.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive country risk framework covering sovereign, political, regulatory, and macroeconomic factors.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial systems, including banking sectors and capital markets, to support overall country risk evaluations.
• Provide strategic insights into sector-focused portfolio allocation and risk management decisions.
• Assess sector-specific risks, including commodity price volatility, regulatory developments, supply chain disruptions, and government intervention.
• Partner with Front Office, Credit, and Risk Management teams to identify priority markets and sectors for business growth opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government bodies, regulators, industry specialists, and multilateral organizations.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in country risk analysis and sector research across emerging markets.
• In-depth knowledge of sectors including energy, infrastructure, industrials, and financial services.
• A background in project finance, structured finance, or sector-specific credit analysis would be an advantage.

Regional and Sector Expertise

• Good understanding of MENA markets and key sector trends.
• Specific expertise within oil & gas and sovereign-backed projects is highly valued.
