Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

InterSystems is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join its hosting team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time position is for individuals with 0-1 years of experience. The role focuses on delivering InterSystems' solutions as hosted or managed services, ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and security for clients.

Deployment Responsibilities

• Collaborate with co-location partners to design cage, rack, and server layouts, and ensure ongoing provision of space, power, and cooling.
• Work with engineering/architecture teams to design solutions that maximize performance, efficiency, and operability of hosted solutions.
• Lead and/or participate in the provisioning and deployment of server, network, and other hosting-related equipment, including hands-on build and configuration.
• Participate in the deployment of new applications and/or changes, ensuring documentation, monitoring, and integration into operational processes.
• Perform hardware qualification testing on new platforms for production deployments.
• Ensure pre-operational sign-offs are obtained across the solutions lifecycle to meet or exceed performance targets (*, security, availability, response times).
• Assist with troubleshooting integration issues.
• Consult with technical stakeholders, including customers, on the delivery of hosted solutions.

Operations Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain hosted solutions and related infrastructure (firewalls, switches, servers, storage), including proactive incident identification and fixing, and backup management.
• Participate in the definition, documentation, operation, and continuous improvement of operational processes (*, ITIL-based processes such as incident, change, problem, and configuration management).
• Define, implement, monitor, and report on metrics required for highly-available hosted services and organizational needs.
• Provide technical support for hosted services, including participation in a 24x7 on-call rota, ensuring timely resolution of incidents/problems and deployment of approved changes/updates.
• Enhance automation of hosting-related processes, such as deployment of changes, new services, inventory management, security scanning, and service level reporting.
