About Bechtel and the King Salman International Airport Project

Bechtel Corporation has been appointed to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services for the development of the King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This significant infrastructure project aims to expand the airport's capacity to 120 million travelers by 2030 and 185 million by 2050, with cargo capacity reaching million tons by 2050. Bechtel's scope includes PMC services for three new terminals: Terminal 6, the Iconic Terminal, and a Private Aviation Terminal.

The Planner Role

We are seeking a Planner to join our project team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves assisting in the preparation, establishment, and maintenance of schedule data for project proposals and contracts. The Planner will be responsible for schedule development, monitoring, reporting, and analysis, as well as supporting schedule recovery plans. Your work will be instrumental in optimizing scheduling details for critical activities to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of schedule data for proposals or contracts.
• Establish and maintain schedules for specific discipline areas or specialties.
• Perform schedule development duties, including establishing the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), determining work activity durations, establishing proper workflow logic ties, and developing required job expenditures.
• Conduct schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties.
• Assist with the maintenance of critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics.
• Perform schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine the criticality of schedule activities.
• Assist with the development and implementation of schedule recovery plans.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent).
• 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in planning and scheduling functions.
• Demonstrated skill in planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
• Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for project planning and scheduling activities.

Essential Skills

• Skilled in oral and written communication, with a proven ability to present planning and scheduling information to management and clients.
• Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems effectively.
• Knowledgeable about current industry and technical developments relevant to planning and scheduling.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a dynamic project environment. The Planner will be an integral part of the project management consultancy team, contributing to the successful delivery of a landmark international airport expansion.
