The Role of Play Cafe Entertainment Supervisor/Lead

As a Play Cafe Entertainment Supervisor/Lead, you will join Leisure Lab's pioneering team at The Bean Play Café in Riyadh. This full-time role involves contributing to the development of the café's culture and experiences, with a focus on family engagement and community growth. The position requires an outgoing and approachable individual who can initiate conversations, connect with families, and ensure an inclusive environment. You will also support external events, pop-ups, private celebrations, and community activities, with opportunities to develop new skills and responsibilities as the business expands. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the growth of The Bean community through engaging programs, celebrations, and positive family relationships.
• Plan and lead entertainment delivery for external events, pop-ups, and private or corporate celebrations.
• Coordinate event preparation, including team briefings, equipment, setup, and resets, while maintaining safety and service standards.
• Collaborate with the Café Manager and founders to develop new activities and event experiences that support business growth.
• Coach and develop a confident team capable of representing The Bean both inside and outside the café.
• Develop people and delivery standards to support future locations and the expanding events business.
• Allocate hosts to zones and activities, managing capacity, relief, and handovers within approved operating limits.
• Complete play readiness checks, identify unsafe equipment, escalate incidents, and verify clearance before reopening.
• Coach and assess hosts, maintain training records, and coordinate activity and party quality.
• Plan materials, resets, and activity schedules, coordinating with café and reception to align play, food, and bookings.
• Directly host play, activities, and parties, providing support to reception or café only when entertainment oversight is covered and all zones remain supervised.
• Coordinate workshops, party delivery, and membership advocacy, identifying additional experiences and relaying qualified leads.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Hands-on entertainment leadership: Experience leading a team in play, leisure, children’s activities, or a similar family-facing environment.
• Visible, outgoing leadership: Demonstrated ability to welcome families, engage groups, and set a professional example for hosts.
• Strong safety judgment: Capability to plan supervision, manage capacity, recognize hazards, and respond calmly to changes in activities.
• Event planning and delivery skills: Ability to coordinate hosts, equipment, materials, timings, setup, and pack-down for events.
• Confidence leading external experiences: Comfort taking responsibility for entertainment at various external events.
• Creativity with commercial awareness: Ability to develop engaging activities that align with the audience, resources, and business objectives.
• Community building ability: Capacity to develop positive relationships with families and partners, using feedback to enhance programs.
• Coaching and coordination skills: Ability to provide clear briefings, develop host confidence, and collaborate with colleagues.
• Ownership and growth potential: Eagerness to work with management, establish repeatable standards, and take on broader responsibility.

Experience in opening an operation, developing activity programs, or supervising external events is considered a significant advantage.

This is a full-time position based at The Bean Play Café in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will work closely with the founders and management team, contributing to the development and growth of the business.
