Risk Surveyor Specialist

About the Role

SAICO Insurance is seeking a Risk Surveyor Specialist to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves conducting comprehensive risk assessments and providing expert recommendations to support underwriting decisions and enhance loss prevention strategies. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-risk surveys and site inspections to inform underwriting decisions.
• Assess risks related to Property, Engineering, Fire, Business Interruption, and General Insurance, identifying potential hazards.
• Evaluate construction, occupancy, processes, machinery, fire protection, and safety systems.
• Collect on-site risk information using standardized templates and photographic evidence.
• Assess risk exposures and recommend measures for risk improvement and loss prevention.
• Prepare detailed risk survey reports covering Fire, Explosion, Business Interruption, and Machinery Breakdown.
• Provide risk grading, EML/PML, and Business Interruption calculations, along with clear underwriting recommendations.
• Advise clients on risk improvement requirements and monitor the completion of recommended improvements.
• Provide technical risk information and recommendations to underwriters.
• Accompany underwriters on site visits and support their technical development.
• Liaise with underwriters, brokers, clients, HSE/fire inspectors, and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in insurance risk surveying, risk engineering, or underwriting support.
• Strong knowledge of Property & Engineering Insurance, Fire, Business Interruption, and Machinery Breakdown.
• Good understanding of fire protection, safety systems, industrial risks, and loss prevention.
• Saudi Arabia/GCC insurance experience is preferred.
• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or other relevant professional certification is an advantage.
