About the Roads Inspector Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a dedicated Roads Inspector to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the quality and compliance of road and highway construction projects. The Roads Inspector will monitor and inspect all phases of construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to approved drawings, specifications, materials, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect various road construction works, including excavation, grading, subgrade, granular sub-base (GSB), sub-base, basecourse, and asphalt layers.
• Verify compliance with material specifications and review test results for soil, aggregates, and asphalt.
• Inspect associated infrastructure such as drainage systems, kerbs, duct banks, utility crossings, and manholes.
• Monitor traffic management setups and detours to ensure the safety of all road users.

Quality Assurance and Documentation

• Prepare detailed inspection reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and diligently follow up on corrective actions.
• Participate in joint inspections with contractors, consultants, and clients to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution.
• Ensure the proper implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and adherence to all Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements.
• Verify the quality of workmanship and the strict observance of safety protocols within active road construction zones.

Candidate Profile and Experience

The ideal candidate for this Roads Inspector position will possess a robust background in road construction and inspection. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required, demonstrating a proven capability to monitor projects effectively and ensure compliance with stringent construction standards and safety procedures.
