About the Role: Safety Inspector Road and Highways

The HSE Leader™ is seeking a dedicated Safety Inspector Road and Highways to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to maintaining the highest standards of occupational safety across various road and highway construction projects.

Role Purpose and Context

The Safety Inspector is responsible for overseeing all aspects of occupational safety at designated construction sites. This involves ensuring that all project activities strictly comply with established HSE guidelines, specific project safety plans, and relevant legal requirements. The core objective of this role is to proactively prevent incidents and maintain consistently safe working conditions for all personnel involved in road and highway infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily HSE inspections of road projects, work zones, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Monitor the effective implementation of risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems on site.
• Ensure all workers consistently use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to established safety procedures.
• Identify and document hazards and unsafe practices, issuing corrective actions and following up to ensure their timely resolution.
• Verify compliance with traffic management measures and ensure the safe movement of vehicles and machinery within project areas.
• Organize and conduct regular toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions for site personnel.
• Participate actively in investigations of incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain comprehensive safety logs, daily reports, and all necessary audit documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness initiatives and participate in safety drills.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in safety inspection roles, specifically within road and highway construction projects.
• Demonstrated understanding and practical application of HSE guidelines, project-specific safety plans, and relevant legal safety requirements.
• Proven ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role primarily involves working on various road and highway construction sites within the Riyadh region.
