National Medical Care, a prominent healthcare provider based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Senior Application Developer to join its technology team. This full-time role is crucial for guiding application development initiatives and delivering robust software solutions that support the organization's operational and strategic objectives.

The Role of Senior Application Developer

The Senior Application Developer plays a pivotal role in leading and guiding other application developers in the creation of large and complex applications. This position involves establishing customer needs, translating business requirements into effective technological solutions, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time and as requested. The role requires a strategic approach to application development, focusing on process and technology to achieve business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Translate business requirements into technical designs and solutions, adhering to defined Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks.
Design, develop, and test software components of applications using appropriate software tools and languages, ensuring compliance with design reviews, code reviews, deployment documents, and industry standard development methodologies.
Drive the resolution of complex technical problems within application development.
Provide leadership and technical expertise to facilitate the implementation of new complex applications and significant enhancements to existing applications.
Actively lead and mentor other developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for coding standards and technologies utilized across the IT department.
Perform peer reviews to ensure strict adherence to established coding and development standards.
Communicate business and technical information effectively to users and technical staff, both verbally and in writing, and coordinate feedback to management on open issues.
Utilize data and other information to guide customers toward appropriate technical decisions.
Conduct specialized studies on application work procedures, program products, and programming tools, recommending standards as required.
Maintain effective liaison with Owner Company representatives regarding system availability, feasibility study results, and appraisals of relevant software products.
Participate in professional application programs and thoroughly review business and industry publications to stay abreast of new systems development.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess a strong background in application development with a proven track record of leadership and technical proficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage complex projects and mentor team members effectively.

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in application development.
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and solutions.
Proficiency in designing, developing, and testing software components using various tools and languages.
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in resolving complex technical challenges.
Experience in leading and mentoring other developers.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with systems development life cycle (SDLC) frameworks and industry standard development methodologies.

Reporting and Organizational Structure

The Senior Application Developer will report directly to the CIO (Chief Information Officer). This role involves direct supervision of Application Developers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure project success and professional growth within the team.
