Senior DataStage Architect

About the Role

Live Connections is seeking a Senior DataStage Architect for a contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves working with a multinational company on a 12-month contract, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in IBM Data Integration technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or act as Principal Architect on large-scale, full-lifecycle enterprise data warehouse or data lake implementations.
• Develop and implement advanced DataStage engineering solutions, including Parallel Job mechanics and custom routine development.
• Interface DataStage with diverse data environments such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop/Hive, and modern Cloud Data Warehouses.
• Utilize expertise in Unix/Linux shell scripting, grid scheduling tools, and SQL/PL-SQL optimization to enhance data integration processes.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

• IBM Tech Stack Mastery: 12–14+ years of deep expertise across the complete IBM Data Integration suite, including IBM DataStage ( / Cloud Pak for Data), QualityStage, Information Analyzer, Information Governance Catalog (IGC), and IBM Db2.
• Architecture Proven Track Record: Proven experience acting as a Lead or Principal Architect on at least 2–3 large-scale, full-lifecycle enterprise data warehouse or data lake implementations.
• Advanced DataStage Engineering: Expert-level knowledge of Parallel Job mechanics (combining, sorting, partitioning, collection methods) and custom routine development (Parallel routines/BuildOps).
• Data Ecosystem & Platforms: Strong expertise interfacing DataStage with diverse environments such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop/Hive, and modern Cloud Data Warehouses (*, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse).
• Scripting & OS: High proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting, grid scheduling tools (Control-M, Tivoli, or Autosys), and SQL/PL-SQL optimization.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in relevant roles.
• Ability to start immediately or within a 1-month notice period.
