The Opportunity: Senior Planning Engineer

Decima International is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, client-facing role involves supporting the development of multiple data center projects for a leading technology company. The position focuses on complex aspects of planning and scheduling, including change management, scheduled maintenance, and multi-project resource management.

Please note: This position is part of an anticipated expansion in Saudi Arabia and is associated with the planned launch of operations in the region. It is not an offer of immediate employment but an opportunity for future consideration.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, communicating effectively with both technical and management-level personnel.
• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors to develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), CPM baseline schedules, and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
• Load schedules with resource and cost information.
• Conduct resource analyses to identify potential bottlenecks and resource strain.
• Update, maintain, and revise monthly and weekly schedules and reports.
• Prepare and present PowerPoint decks to management on project progress, findings, and recommendations.
• Coordinate and conduct reviews of consultant, contractor, and vendor schedules to ensure plans are achievable and meet client standards and contract specifications.
• Report on comparisons of monthly schedule updates, including changes, delays, or accelerations.
• Track, analyze, and prepare onsite construction productivity reports.
• Develop and implement an Earned Value Management (EVM) system for accurate measurement of project work progress and performance.
• Identify program and project risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.
• Perform what-if and delay analyses as required.
• Act as the primary communication link between the company and clients regarding contracts and project progress, managing client demands effectively.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling.
• Demonstrated capability in performing complex planning and scheduling tasks.
• Experience with data center projects is preferred.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to multitask and innovate in a fast-paced environment.
