About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead a rigorous, cross-functional, and integrated research program. This full-time position requires a leader who can effectively manage research staff, provide opportunities for career growth, and supervise PhD and master’s students. The ideal candidate will have 0-1 years of experience in a senior scientific capacity, complemented by a strong academic and research background.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex research studies, experimental innovation, and research projects.
• Develop and publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals to disseminate research findings.
• Develop and optimize scientific methodologies and protocols.
• Analyze and interpret data to draw meaningful scientific conclusions.
• Present scientific results of projects at National and International Scientific meetings, and participate in Research Centre seminars.
• Establish new research proposals and apply for funding and grants.
• Supervise graduate students and train other staff members.
• Participate in self and others' education, training, and development, as applicable.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Academic Background

• A Doctorate Degree (PhD, DDS, or equivalent) in a scientific discipline relevant to the research field is required.
• Evidence of scholarly research accomplishment, demonstrated through publications exhibiting originality, novelty, significance, and impact in the field.
• Proven role as a principal investigator in at least three (3) fully completed research projects and two (2) ongoing projects.
• Presentations of at least five (5) instances of keynote lectures, invited presentations, or oral talks selected from meeting abstracts.
• Academic involvement in education and training activities.

Research Leadership and Academic Contribution

The Senior Scientist plays a pivotal role in advancing scientific knowledge through leadership in research projects and academic engagement. This includes fostering a dynamic research environment, mentoring graduate students, and actively training other staff members. The role also encompasses significant academic involvement in education and training activities, ensuring the continuous development of research capabilities within the institution.

• Adherence to all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
• Compliance with all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
