The Role of Site Engineer

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising site construction activities for road, highway, and infrastructure projects. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this full-time position ensures that all construction works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, contractual requirements, and project schedules. The role involves significant coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to achieve successful project delivery.

Core Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily road construction activities in alignment with project schedules and milestones.
• Review drawings, specifications, and work programs to ensure effective project execution.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and material resources required for site activities.
• Supervise construction activities including earthworks, grading, embankment construction, subgrade preparation, pavement works, drainage systems, culverts, and road furniture installation.
• Monitor work progress, productivity, and construction quality on site, recommending corrective actions for schedule deviations.
• Resolve site-related technical issues in coordination with design and project teams.
• Coordinate with survey teams, quality inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Track construction progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports; attend site meetings and provide technical updates.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE plans and company safety requirements, conducting site inspections and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Coordinate inspections, material approvals, and laboratory testing activities, monitoring corrective actions for quality non-conformities.
• Monitor receipt, storage, and utilization of construction materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage and wastage.
• Supervise subcontractor activities, monitor performance against project requirements, and verify completed work quantities.
• Maintain comprehensive site records, inspection reports, daily progress reports, and technical documentation, ensuring use of approved and latest revisions of drawings.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in road, highway, or infrastructure construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience in site supervision and coordination of road construction activities.

Technical Competencies

• Familiarity with road construction methods, specifications, and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and project specifications accurately.
• Strong understanding of HSE protocols and quality assurance procedures in construction.
