The Role of Site Testing Engineer

Riyadh Cables Group is seeking a dedicated Site Testing Engineer V Cable Projects to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for professionals with 2-5 years of experience. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the integrity and performance of high-voltage cable systems through rigorous site acceptance testing and commissioning procedures, adhering to established standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute site acceptance testing and commissioning procedures for high-voltage underground cable systems up to 132kV.
• Conduct comprehensive testing on cable accessories, including joints and terminations.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with SEC standards and project specifications.
• Adhere to relevant international standards, including IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE recommendations.
• Perform various electrical tests, such as VLF, AC Resonant, Sheath Testing, Insulation Resistance, and Continuity Testing.
• Implement and enforce electrical safety procedures and permit-to-work systems on site.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and maintain accurate documentation of all testing results and procedures.

Required Technical Expertise

Candidates for this role must possess professional knowledge and practical experience in the following areas:

• High-voltage underground cable systems up to 132kV.
• Cable accessories, including joints and terminations.
• Site acceptance testing and commissioning procedures.
• SEC standards and project specifications.
• International standards such as IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE recommendations.
• VLF, AC Resonant, Sheath Testing, Insulation Resistance, and Continuity Testing.
• Electrical safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Technical reporting and documentation requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in site testing for cable projects.
• Experience with SEC projects is preferred.
