About the Role

Aljomaih Energy & Water is seeking a Maintenance Lead Engineer - Electrical for a full-time position in Ash Shimasiyah, Al Qassim Province. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of electrical maintenance activities. The Lead Engineer will provide technical expertise, manage projects, ensure compliance with safety and industry standards, and play a crucial role during the pre-PCOD phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS, motors, and other ancillary systems.
• Schedule and execute electrical maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption to plant operations, ensuring necessary tooling and Third Party Certification.
• Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for failures, and developing mitigation strategies.
• Plan and oversee electrical maintenance projects and upgrades, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, operations, engineering) to facilitate coordinated maintenance efforts.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in developing the annual maintenance budget for electrical systems, managing resources, monitoring expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure adequate inventories of spares and consumables, manage timely procurement, prepare purchase requisitions, and perform technical evaluation of quotations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, parts inventory, and performance metrics, preparing reports for management review.
• Develop, implement, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify best practices and innovative solutions to enhance electrical maintenance processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and advancements to improve plant reliability and efficiency.

Pre-PCOD Phase Contributions

• Support the Owner during the design review phase, installation, commissioning, testing, and trial operation period.
• Review and finalize O&M manuals and the initial spare parts list.
• Develop the Master Equipment List and implement the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Identify spares and define the maintenance strategy based on equipment criticality studies.
• Prepare site-specific maintenance procedures and Work Instructions.
• Ensure the Maintenance team is authorized as Permit Receivers and manage the timely placement of sub-contracts.
• Ensure operational readiness by verifying staff training and the preparedness of all systems and processes required for O&M operations.
• Confirm the plant is fit for purpose to be taken over, designed, built, commissioned, and tested according to the EPC Contract and other Project Agreements.

Team Leadership and Strategic Maintenance

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of electrical maintenance engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous development.
• Evaluate team performance and provide training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Supervise team activities to ensure targets and objectives are achieved in line with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor electrical preventive, corrective maintenance, and overhauling work activities to ensure continuity and reliability of plant electrical equipment.
• Manage the timely response to all emergency breakdowns, providing prompt corrective action to ensure plant availability and minimize downtime.
• Develop and promote a condition-based preventive maintenance culture through troubleshooting and root cause analyses to reduce reactive maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a lead or supervisory role within a relevant industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS, motors, and ancillary systems.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams, manage projects, and implement comprehensive maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, environmental compliance, and corporate policies.

Compliance and Work Environment

The Maintenance Lead Engineer - Electrical will ensure all electrical maintenance activities comply with industry standards, environmental regulations, and company policies. This includes conducting periodic safety audits, training, and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment and adhering to Corporate and site-specific procedures and Work Instructions. This full-time position is based in Ash Shimasiyah, Al Qassim Province.
