About the Role

Aljomaih Energy & Water is seeking a Sr. HSE Officer to lead and manage comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs at its plant located in Ash Shimasiyah, Al Qassim Province. This full-time position is central to maintaining regulatory compliance and cultivating a strong safety culture within the organization.

HSSE Program Development and Compliance

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSSE policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements, PPAs, and ISO standards (*, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards, ensuring the plant operates within a safe and secure environment.
• Organize and conduct HSSE training programs for all employees and contractors to enhance safety awareness and knowledge of emergency response protocols.
• Develop educational materials and communicate HSSE policies to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with local and international health, safety, environmental regulations, and industry standards relevant to power generation.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and prepare necessary documentation for permits and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with various departments, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to integrate HSSE considerations into all aspects of the plant's operations.

Incident Management and Emergency Preparedness

• Lead the investigation of incidents, near misses, and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents and generate analyses to prevent recurrence; maintain a comprehensive incident reporting system.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update the plant’s emergency response plan, ensuring all personnel are trained and drills are conducted.
• Coordinate emergency response teams and ensure suitable PPE and safety equipment are available and maintained.

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor HSSE performance metrics and prepare regular reports to management detailing compliance status, incidents, and improvement initiatives.
• Participate in HSSE audits and inspections, addressing any identified issues in a timely manner.
• Foster a culture of safety through effective communication and collaboration with management, employees, and contractors.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSSE practices and suggest improvements for processes, systems, and culture.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in HSSE technologies.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) role.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and communicate across various levels of an organization.

Work Environment

This position requires a willingness to work in onsite environments and conduct regular site inspections at the plant in Ash Shimasiyah, Al Qassim Province.
