Role Overview: Corrosion Control Specialist

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a dedicated Corrosion Control Specialist to join its team in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is open exclusively to Saudi Nationals and requires an experienced professional to manage and treat corrosion on various aircraft components and structures. The role is critical for maintaining the integrity and operational readiness of aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and treat corrosion on aircraft components and structures.
• Remove corrosion using appropriate chemical and mechanical techniques.
• Perform metal etching procedures as required.
• Conduct surface preparation and apply primers and surface coats.
• Utilize specialized equipment for corrosion detection, measuring, metal identification, cleaning, treatment, and application.
• Prepare and accurately complete all necessary maintenance documentation and reports.
• Maintain equipment specific to the job role to ensure operational readiness.
• Act as an active and collaborative member of a diverse team within TMSC.
• Report and encourage expedient Error Management Reporting, addressing or highlighting any safety concerns and failings immediately.
• Assist with audits within the area of responsibility and address/rectify any audit findings when required.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve and enhance the delivery of TSS service, fostering a Continuous Improvement culture.

Qualifications and Experience

• A recognized qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or a suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA. Alternatively, a Part 66 license (current or lapsed), or a suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
• At least 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training, or successful completion of the BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
• Relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required for the role.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to understand and effectively use the Maintenance GoldESP system or a similar platform.
• Fully conversant with the interpretation of technical diagrams and documentation pertinent to aircraft maintenance.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering principles.
• Possession of Saudi Council of Engineering (SCE) Registration.
• Broad knowledge of the Aerospace and Defence company/industry landscape.
