Staff Physician Radiology

About the Role

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a Staff Physician in Radiology to provide high-standard, cost-effective care to eligible medical recipients. This full-time position is based in Dhahran and requires adherence to approved Credentials & Privileges set by the Hospital Credentials & Privileging Committee.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain the highest standard of diagnostic examinations, ensuring timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Interpret and perform general radiological examinations for inpatients, emergency, and outpatients, including studies requiring fluoroscopy, special procedures, ultrasound, CT, and MRI scanning, as assigned and within approved credentials.
• Implement and follow radiation protection procedures.
• Report patients' adverse events to the appropriate department/service office.
• Ensure the appropriateness and necessity of requested radiological examinations through consultation with requesting physicians and colleagues.
• Participate as a Radiologist on call after office hours and on weekends.
• Participate in the Hospital's Major Disaster Plan as indicated.
• Deputize for the Consultant as required and share the workload in the specialty during colleagues' absence.
• Develop collegial relationships and collaborate with other physicians, nurses, allied health providers, and administrators across JHAH departments and districts.
• Work with technologists and provide instruction for improved imaging techniques when appropriate.
• Actively participate in monthly Division and hospital staff clinical education, conferences, rounds, and research meetings.
• Participate in medical records audits when required.
• Participate in interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and Quality Improvement Programs to meet JCAHO, CBAHI, and ACR standards within JHAH.
• Adhere to hospital policy regarding patient record confidentiality.
• Attend and contribute to service and department business meetings.
• Prepare and provide patient reports as required within hospital policy.
• Participate actively when assigned to a given committee.
• Keep apprised of and adhere to hospital and departmental policies and bylaws.

Collaboration and Communication

This role involves close contact with physicians from Emergency Medical Services, Clinical Medicine Services, and Surgical & Diagnostic Services, as well as other requesting services. The Staff Physician will attend service clinical and educational rounds, including morning reports and sign-out rounds, and participate in multi-disciplinary team rounds.

Quality and Safety

The Staff Physician will attend and participate in service/department Quality and Safety activities, including reviews, audits, and presentations. Reporting of patients' adverse events to the appropriate department/service office is also a key responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in the specialty post-residency training (following completion of internship) is required.
• Experience preferably gained in a university-affiliated teaching hospital.
• Ability to participate in teaching and educational activities for junior staff, medical students, and interns.
• Commitment to continuous medical education, maintaining adequate credits as required by hospital and licensing authorities.
• Ability to keep up to date with knowledge and skills necessary to perform duties safely.
