Field Specialist Drilling Optimization Engineer

About the Role

Baker Hughes is seeking a Field Specialist Drilling Optimization Engineer to join the Drilling Services Team in Dhahran, Eastern region. This full-time role involves providing resolution to complex operational problems at well sites, requiring a broad knowledge of product line operations and services. The position focuses on optimizing drilling processes and supporting digital solutions within the oilfield services sector.

Role Context and Contribution

The Field Specialist will be part of a team that assembles and tests oilfield equipment, collaborating with development teams in science, mechanical and electrical engineering, physics, and geoscience to advance drilling tools. This role provides direct support to Baker Hughes Drilling Services operations, utilizing innovative equipment to monitor well sites effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver drilling optimization support to Baker Hughes Drilling Services operations.
• Support Baker Hughes’ digital solutions, including Kantori Optimization services, Drilling Analytics (+Corva), and autonomous directional drilling applications.
• Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and lessons learned across the organization.
• Support software field testing and the integration of new technologies.
• Participate in and promote knowledge management initiatives within Drilling Services.
• Serve as a liaison between local and global teams for technology development and enhancement.
• Ensure adherence to Baker Hughes’ global standards, policies, and procedures across all supported areas.
• Comply with and promote the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) Management System.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Petroleum Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of field experience with Baker Hughes in Drilling Services technologies.
• At least 5 years of experience in Directional Drilling or Drilling Engineering is preferred.
• Background in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is preferred.
