About the Role

Airbus ** is seeking a Supplier Development Manager for its General Procurement (GP) activities within Airbus Commercial in the US. This full-time role is based in Al Qatif and involves managing a diverse portfolio of activities, products, and suppliers. The successful candidate will work closely with various Airbus organizations, plants, and group divisions to ensure value generation and contribute to the company's overall competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance supplier relationships by supporting the development of robust supply chains and creating Continuous Improvement plans or roadmaps.
  • Improve supplier performance through the implementation of advanced actions.
  • Define and lead the Supply Chain & Quality Improvement Program in alignment with GP commodities’ strategy and objectives.
  • Liaise with other Supply Chain and Quality Managers (SCQM) to define necessary activities at supplier sites (Correct, Improve, or Develop).
  • Propose, define, and launch improvement plans with in-scope suppliers to continuously enhance their performance and/or capability.

Core Focus Areas

The role's responsibilities are primarily distributed across four key areas:

  • Supplier Development and Improvement Management (40%)
  • Supplier Control (30%)
  • Supplier Performance Management (10%)
  • Supplier Risk Management (20%)

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience. Key requirements include:

  • Ability to perform and support process audits at supplier sites for compliance purposes, adhering to M20193 standards.
  • Ensure efficient communication of regional quality and buyer activities to define and action relevant activities stemming from regional decisions, issues, or international commodities contracted in the region.
  • Support Supplier CID (Correct, Improve, and Develop) missions or connect suppliers with the organization responsible for improvement activities, based on scheduled Supplier Control Reviews and GP strategy.
  • Manage defined periodic or exceptional reviews with Airbus organizations (Procurement, Manufacturing, Plants, Programs) and relevant stakeholders (*, Internal Customers & local or international Aviation Regulations) to assess Supplier Quality Assurance and compliance with Airbus business requirements (including external referential such as EN9100).

Physical Demands

The role requires various physical capabilities, including:

  • Vision: Ability to read computer screens, electronic equipment, documents, reports, and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: Ability to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference/phone, and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: Ability to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information, and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate most office and personal electronic equipment, and some production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying/Lifting: Ability to carry and lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Ability to push and pull small office furniture, equipment, and tools.
  • Sitting/Standing/Squatting/Kneeling: Ability to sit for extended periods, stand for discussions, and squat or kneel to retrieve items.
  • Travel: Ability to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking: Ability to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
