RTG Operator

About the Role

SPARK Logistics is seeking an experienced RTG Operator to join our team in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for maintaining safe and efficient container handling operations within our terminal. The role involves operating Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes to support the timely movement, stacking, loading, and unloading of containers, ensuring adherence to all operational procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate RTG cranes safely and efficiently for container handling operations.
• Perform container loading, unloading, stacking, grounding, and yard movement activities.
• Utilize automated RTG functions, including yard profiling, auto gantry, soft landing, and anti-collision systems.
• Utilize ROS/SCADA systems to receive and execute operational jobs.
• Perform RTG block changes and follow remote operation protocols.
• Conduct routine RTG inspections and report equipment issues or abnormalities.
• Coordinate with Terminal Operations, Engineering, and HSSE teams to support smooth operations.
• Monitor RTG operations and support efforts to minimize equipment downtime.
• Follow operational procedures and all applicable safety requirements.
• Support physical inventory counts and daily operational reporting when required.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in RTG operations and container handling.
• Additional certification or training in RTG operation and automation systems is preferred.

Required Skills

• Good communication skills with an understanding of English and Arabic.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

The RTG Operator will work effectively in an outdoor terminal operations environment, contributing to a team focused on maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
