The Role of Aircraft Maintenance Technician

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, operation, maintenance, and repair of AMS systems, including the removal and installation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components on Hawk aircraft and associated support equipment. This full-time role is based in Tabuk and requires maintaining aircraft to meet flying operation demands, ensuring the delivery of serviceable aircraft to fulfil contractual operational and flying commitments. This position offers a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to RSAF Policies and procedures, M&CA Mandates, and Rects Maintenance Manager directives.
• Make decisions regarding aircraft fault identification, debrief, and rectification, as well as aircraft maintenance scheduling.
• Maintain competency and ensure SQEP levels are within mandated limits.
• Schedule personal time to meet operational requirements.
• Ensure effective delivery of BAE Systems maintenance support to meet RSAF requirements and mitigate activities that could prejudice maintenance or safety, within the constraints applied to the Hawk Fleet.
• Provide support to the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) to ensure serviceable aircraft delivery to TAGF for contractual operational and flying commitments.
• Train technicians and maintain a strong safety culture during fault finding, repair, and delivery of serviceable assets for the daily flying programme.
• Provide accurate and up-to-date information to Line Managers to achieve the ETIC schedule and identify and rectify issues during maintenance activities.
• Manage repairable components into the supply repair channel and ensure efficient and effective supply discipline.
• Ensure procedural compliance for Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system.
• Provide and support on-the-job training (OJT) for RSAF/FLMCT and SNTTP trainees.
• Prepare reports as directed, including training reports in accordance with policy.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Essential:
  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA. OR
  • Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or an equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training, if required.
  • Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training, OR substantial experience on the same aircraft type, OR successful completion of a BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety, and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
  • Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.
• Desirable:
  • Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
  • An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
