The SCADA Engineer Role

Air Products is seeking a SCADA Engineer to join its team in Duba, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in the field. The role involves leading the design, implementation, and optimization of critical control systems for various power generation assets, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency within complex industrial environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of SCADA, Power Plant Controller (PPC), Energy Management System (EMS), and Substation Automation System (SAS).
• Ensure seamless integration and interoperability across renewable, hybrid, and grid-connected power generation assets, including Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS/TDMS).
• Lead grid code compliance and performance validation activities for power systems.
• Drive Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity compliance and network architecture reviews in accordance with standards such as NCA, OTCC, and ISA62443.
• Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and develop comprehensive remediation planning.

Project Execution and Support

• Support Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) activities.
• Coordinate effectively with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), utilities, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate site troubleshooting efforts and lead root cause analysis to resolve operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with HCIS SEC requirements for all project activities.
• Provide support for overall Site Performance Management initiatives.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of professional experience directly related to SCADA systems and power generation control. This full-time position requires a strong technical background in industrial control systems, cybersecurity protocols, and power asset integration. The ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external parties is essential for success in this role.
