About NEOM Green Hydrogen Company

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is a strategic partnership formed by Air Products, ACWA Power, and NEOM. This collaboration is focused on developing an $8 billion green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility located in Oxagon, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The project integrates renewable solar, wind, and storage power to produce green ammonia for global export, with operations scheduled to commence in 2026.

The Role of ASU Field Operator

The ASU Field Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Air Separation Unit (ASU) and associated Utilities field production processes. This includes managing the GAN supply pipeline, LIN storage tanks and vaporizers, LIN loading station, Cooling Water (CW) systems, Demineralized Water (DW) systems, and the Instrument Air (IA) plant. The primary objective of this full-time role is to ensure plant operations are conducted safely, reliably, and efficiently, in strict adherence to company safety policies and site-specific procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor ASU & Utilities production plants safely and reliably, in accordance with NGHC standards.
  • Troubleshoot plant issues and collaborate with the Operations & Maintenance team to provide field support.
  • Perform daily and monthly operational routines, including the collection of daily process samples.
  • Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in the field and maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the plant.
  • Support plant shutdown activities and field operations, and assist in updating operating documents.
  • Contribute to maintaining site management systems, including Management of Change (MOC), Best Practices (BPs), Safe Work Instruction Manuals (SWIMs), and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with EH&S standards and actively participating in NGHC safety programs.
  • Understand and execute the Emergency Response Plan, taking appropriate action to protect personnel and ensure safe plant shutdown when required.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and stakeholders, and support operational communications across the plant.
  • Work rotating shifts and participate in the on-call schedule as required, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete all required operational training, successfully pass competency validation reviews, and provide training and coaching to new field operators.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Air Separation Unit (ASU) and/or Utilities plant operations.
  • Experience working in a similar industrial plant environment is preferred.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Experience interpreting Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Single Line Diagrams, and Shutdown Matrices.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good understanding of work permit systems and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Proactive, honest, hardworking, and team-oriented.
  • Eagerness to learn and continuously develop.
  • Experience in ASU & Utilities plants is considered an advantage.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located at the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company facility in Oxagon, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The role requires participation in rotating shifts and an on-call schedule to support continuous plant operations.
