About Red Sea Global and Botanica

Red Sea Global is seeking a Senior Specialist Health and Safety for Botanica, a subsidiary focused on providing sustainable greenery across Red Sea Global’s destinations. Botanica integrates new species with local flora and operates with a planet-first approach to sustainability. Since 2020, Botanica has cultivated over 5 million plants, with a goal of 30 million by 2030, contributing to the natural landscapes of The Red Sea & Amaala. This full-time position is based in Tabuk, specifically in Umluj or Tabuk, and requires 5-10 years of experience.

Role Purpose

The Senior Specialist Health and Safety is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental policies and guidelines. This role involves advising on measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment, with a focus on identifying and addressing violations. The specialist will drive the H&S regulatory compliance system, coordinate hazard identification, and support risk assessment and control measure implementation. Key objectives include establishing a workplace that meets legal safety standards and fostering a culture that prioritizes health, safety, and environment. The role also involves advising on and assisting with the implementation and monitoring of the H&S strategy and management within the subsidiary.

Key Responsibilities

Compile and maintain safety programs, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standardization of H&S practices.
Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards, and recommend appropriate control measures.
Provide close site supervision, conduct inspections, and safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and ensure compliance.
Support the development and review of job safety analyses and risk assessments.
Initiate, organize, and perform H&S training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Participate in safety committees and lead cross-functional teams to address complex HSE issues.
Conduct regular staff meetings and promote a safety culture by encouraging safe work practices.
Provide technical guidance and support to RSG employees or external stakeholders on HSE-related matters.
Correct unsafe acts or conditions through established lines of authority.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes deemed dangerous or unhealthy.
Record and investigate incidents to determine causes.
Prepare reports on occurrences, maintain relevant registers, and provide statistical information.
Assist clients in maintaining comprehensive records and documentation related to HSE programs.
Stay informed of changes in HSE regulations, industry trends, and best practices, and implement necessary updates.
Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement and continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Substantial understanding and knowledge of ISO and other relevant regulations.
In-depth knowledge of legislation (*, OSHA/EMS, Saudi Arabia’s HSE, COSHH, Confined Space, Lifting Operations, Excavations) and HSE procedures.
Relevant health and safety related certifications.
Demonstrated health and safety experience in Gulf countries and local legislation is essential.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence change.
Ability and desire to work in a dynamic and agile environment.
An interest in environmental impact and sustainability.

This role is a full-time position based in Tabuk, with operations in Umluj and Tabuk. The team includes passionate professionals, with 40% from the local community, committed to ecological harmony and pioneering new global benchmarks in sustainable development.
