About the Role

Marriott International is seeking an Assistant Revenue Manager for a full-time position in Jeddah. This role is central to maintaining transient rooms inventory and maximizing transient revenue for the hotel(s). The Assistant Revenue Manager will be responsible for strategic inventory management, recommending pricing and positioning for cluster properties, and ensuring clean booking windows for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the transient rooms inventory for the hotel(s) and release group rooms back into general inventory.
  • Oversee the inventory management system to verify the appropriateness of agreed-upon selling strategies.
  • Compile information, analyze, and monitor actual sales against projected sales, identifying underlying principles and facts.
  • Utilize computers and computer systems, including hardware and software, for programming, data entry, and information processing.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports and presentations.
  • Conduct sales strategy analysis and refine as appropriate to increase market share for all properties.
  • Maintain accurate reservation system information and analyze period-end data to identify trends, future need periods, and obstacles.
  • Generate updates on the transient segment each period and assist with the account diagnostics process.
  • Inform and update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Attend staff, forecast, and long-range meetings as requested by properties.

Revenue Strategy and Execution

  • Update market knowledge and align strategies and approaches accordingly to achieve and exceed performance goals.
  • Establish long-range objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve them, driving the execution of predetermined strategies.
  • Provide revenue management functional expertise to cluster general managers, leadership teams, and market sales leaders.
  • Ensure hotel strategies conform to brand philosophies and initiatives, and that sales strategies and rate restrictions are communicated, implemented, and modified as market conditions fluctuate.
  • Prepare sales strategy meeting agendas and supporting documentation, communicating proactively with properties regarding rate restrictions and strategy.
  • Manage rooms inventory to maximize cluster rooms revenue and assist hotels with pricing and business evaluation recommendations.
  • Lead efforts to coordinate strategies between group sales offices and support cluster selling initiatives by working with all reservation centers.
  • Use reservation systems and demand forecasting systems to determine, implement, and control selling strategies.
  • Check distribution channels for hotel positioning, information accuracy, and competitor positioning.
  • Ensure property diagnostic processes (PDP) are used to maximize revenue and profits, initiating, implementing, and evaluating revenue tests.
  • Provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness of revenue management processes.

Stakeholder Engagement and Brand Management

  • Develop and manage internal key stakeholder relationships in a proactive manner.
  • Act as a liaison, when necessary, between property and regional/corporate systems support.
  • Communicate brand initiatives, demand, and market analysis to hotels, clusters, franchise partners, and owners.
  • Understand and communicate the value of the brand name as it relates to franchise partnerships and revenue management opportunities.
  • Promote and protect brand equity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, with 3 years of experience in revenue management, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
  • OR a 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, with 1 year of experience in revenue management, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
