About the Barista Role at Marriott International

Marriott International is seeking a dedicated Barista to join our team in Jeddah. This full-time role is central to providing exceptional guest service by preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining the bar area, and efficiently processing payments. Key Responsibilities

The Barista is responsible for the precise preparation of drink orders according to established recipes and measuring systems. This includes ensuring the bar area is consistently clean and well-maintained, managing inventory for supplies, and handling all payment transactions accurately. A core aspect of this role involves anticipating and addressing guests' service needs with professionalism and genuine appreciation.

Daily Duties and Operations

• Prepare drink orders for guests following specified recipes and using precise measuring systems.
• Issue, open, and serve wine and champagne bottles as required.
• Set up and maintain the cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar unit, tables, and all associated tools.
• Prepare fresh garnishes for beverages.
• Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies, transporting them to the bar set-up area.
• Wash soiled glassware and remove soiled wares from the bar top and tables.
• Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs for supplies.
• Process all payment methods accurately.
• Count the bank at the end of each shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure the bank.
• Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
• Complete all assigned closing duties.
• Adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; and complete required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Communicate with colleagues and guests using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, support the team in achieving common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards in all tasks.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Physical Demands of the Role

• Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.
• Capacity to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
• Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Aptitude to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Ability to navigate over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
