Cable Design Engineer

About the Role

Jeddah Cables Company is seeking a Cable Design Engineer to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time position involves the end-to-end design, specification, and engineering of cable systems and assemblies. The role requires performing complex calculations, selecting appropriate materials, and determining routing methodologies to ensure all designs meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate cable sizing, ampacity, voltage drop, and cable-pulling tension.
• Select insulation, shielding, and jacketing materials based on environmental, mechanical, and electrical requirements.
• Initiate and follow up on design activities, including releasing trials for new-family products in accordance with company procedures.
• Review inspection and type-test specifications, and establish acceptance criteria for manufacturing and testing as part of the design approval process.
• Research current technical standards and evaluate existing methods and performance to improve processes and procedures.
• Engage with clients to understand project requirements and ensure the technical scope is met.
• Attend customer visits, technical meetings, seminars, and exhibitions as required.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in cable design and engineering.
