About the Role

Al Faisal Plastic Factory is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Mold & Tooling Workshop Manager. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and involves leading the mold workshop and managing the complete lifecycle of plastic molds. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the mold & tooling workshop.
Lead and supervise mold designers, toolmakers, CNC machinists, EDM operators, fitters, and technicians.
Manage the complete mold development process from concept through 3D design, manufacturing, assembly, mold trial, approval, and production.
Review and approve 2D drawings, 3D models, mold designs, and technical specifications.
Plan and control mold manufacturing, preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, and improvements.
Troubleshoot complex mold and tooling issues and identify root causes of production problems.
Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Procurement teams.
Manage mold trials and optimize molds to achieve required cycle time, productivity, dimensional accuracy, and product quality.
Control workshop priorities, manpower, machine utilization, spare parts, tooling, and project timelines.
Manage external mold/tooling suppliers when required.
Establish and monitor workshop KPIs related to mold availability, downtime, maintenance, project completion, quality, and productivity.

Technical Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess strong practical knowledge of plastic molds and tooling, including:

Injection Molds: Experience with PET preform molds, PP/HDPE/other plastic injection molds, hot and cold runner systems, slides, lifters, inserts, ejector systems, cooling systems, and mold troubleshooting and optimization.
Blow Molding: Knowledge of Extrusion Blow Molding molds, blow molding tooling and mold construction, and mold troubleshooting and optimization.
PET: Experience with PET bottle blow molds, PET preform molds, and PET mold trials and process optimization.
IBM – Injection Blow Molding: Strong knowledge of IBM molds and tooling, including experience with IBM mold design, manufacturing, assembly, trials, maintenance, troubleshooting, and understanding of injection, blowing, cooling, neck finish, and mold mechanisms.

CAD and Engineering Expertise

Strong experience in SolidWorks is required.
Excellent ability to read, understand, modify, and prepare 2D engineering drawings and 3D mold designs.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software is an advantage.
Strong understanding of mold design principles, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing feasibility.
