Senior Electrical Engineer Power & Lighting

About the Role

Khatib & Alami is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Power & Lighting to join their team in Jeddah, Western Province. This full-time role involves leading and coordinating the design, engineering, review, and implementation of electrical power distribution and lighting systems for various building and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable codes, project specifications, client requirements, safety standards, and energy-efficiency objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and coordinate electrical power distribution systems, lighting layouts, emergency lighting, and backup power systems.
• Prepare and review electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations, single-line diagrams, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
• Perform lighting calculations and select suitable lighting fixtures and control systems to meet project requirements and energy-efficiency objectives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Saudi codes, international standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design conflicts and avoid clashes.
• Review technical drawings, design reports, material submittals, shop drawings, and contractor documentation for compliance with approved designs.
• Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs, resolving design issues, and reviewing proposed technical changes.
• Participate in site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities to verify compliance with approved drawings and project requirements.
• Identify technical risks, design discrepancies, and opportunities for value engineering, cost optimization, and improved system performance.
• Incorporate energy-efficient lighting solutions and electrical design practices to reduce energy consumption and operating costs.
• Monitor design deliverables and technical submissions to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion in accordance with project schedules.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and coordinate with project teams, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in power and lighting systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate complex electrical design projects.
• Strong understanding of relevant Saudi codes, international standards, and safety regulations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Western Province. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
