About the Role

Landmark Arabia is seeking a Senior Manager, Retail for Max in Jeddah, KSA. This full-time role involves leading retail operations within an assigned territory or region, focusing on driving sales, managing categories and inventory, ensuring excellent customer experience, fostering a strong team culture, and optimizing store operations. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Sales and Business Growth

  • Achieve territory/regional sales targets, gross, and net profit objectives.
  • Plan and implement regional sales initiatives, utilizing Shukran data, monitoring and increasing ATV, UPT, and conversions, and executing focused trade marketing activities.
  • Develop and implement multi-channel retail strategies and increase e-commerce channel business contribution within the region.
  • Monitor and drive productivity by optimizing returns per square foot and sales per employee benchmarks.
  • Gather market and competitor information on products, prices, locations, offers, and promotions, sharing insights with concept and regional teams.
  • Ensure concept standards and guidelines are implemented in stores, meeting audit and concept requirements.
  • Oversee the design, modification, refurbishment, or closure of stores in line with Concept development plans and standards.

Category and Inventory Management

  • Manage category performance across the territory/region.
  • Ensure the right product mix per store using store business intelligence reports.
  • Understand pricing, promotions, and manage markdowns/discounting for the territory/region to deliver targets.
  • Stay informed about market trends and provide regular updates to the concept buying team.
  • Target 50% fresh inventory in every store and manage product replenishment, including initial allocation and min/max levels, aiming to reduce store returns by 50%.
  • Manage and build on the assortment (product mix) in stores.
  • Collaborate regularly with concept planning teams to manage allocations as per business requirements and ensure 100% stock availability across all stores.

Customer Experience and Engagement

  • Ensure store managers and staff are trained to provide excellent customer experience and monitor its delivery.
  • Plan and manage to deliver excellent customer service from entrance to checkout.
  • Build a culture where store managers emotionally serve and personally engage with high-spending customers as per concept or territory guidelines.
  • Manage and increase Shukran enrollment and conversions, targeting the top 30% Shukran customers.
  • Ensure store layout and merchandise meet concept standards and provide the intended customer experience.
  • Monitor NPS and MSN scores and develop plans to improve and meet concept benchmarks.

Team Leadership and Operational Standards

  • Embed value behaviors and build a strong culture of trust and engagement in the region/territory.
  • Coach and support Area Managers/Store Managers to perform and grow within the organization.
  • Engage and motivate store teams across the region/territory, conduct town halls, and listen to feedback.
  • Drive and implement group, concept, and regional/territory engagement activities in stores.
  • Ensure fair and transparent performance and talent review processes are implemented, proactively engaging and retaining high potential talent through recognition and reward programs.
  • Reduce attrition and build succession plans to grow talent from within, responsible for developing successors.
  • Plan and implement localization agendas as per local regulations.
  • Manage manning and productivity targets, seeking continuous improvements.
  • Plan and implement Visual Merchandising (VM) and marketing guidelines as per concept requirements.
  • Regularly seek opportunities to improve, innovate, and optimize store operations.
  • Meet safety and security requirements as per local legislations and company standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations and business standards for smooth store and business operations.

Required Experience

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of progressive experience in retail management, demonstrating a strong track record in driving sales, managing complex retail operations, and leading large teams. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to achieve business objectives in a dynamic retail environment.
