About the Opportunity

Napco National is seeking a dedicated and experienced HSSE Officer to join our team in Khamis Mushait, 'Asir, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment across our premises, ensuring compliance with safety standards and proactive risk management. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) roles.

Role Purpose and Impact

The HSSE Officer plays a vital role in upholding and enhancing safety protocols throughout Napco National's operations. This position involves regular inspections, incident response, and the implementation of preventative measures to safeguard employees, visitors, and company assets. The officer will contribute significantly to fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct periodical safety rounds and inspections across company premises, plants, and warehouses to ensure safe conditions and hygiene.
  • Monitor the safe operation and condition of machinery in production areas and ensure employees wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Oversee the maintenance and readiness of fire-fighting equipment, including periodical checks and refilling.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for daily, weekly, and monthly HSE inspection activities and generate required reports.
  • Monitor hot works, ensuring they are carried out with proper permission and under safe conditions across the plant.
  • Coordinate with security personnel regarding visitor movements and access control within company premises.
  • Conduct operational risk assessments on site and design effective risk mitigation measures.
  • Ensure the availability and proper maintenance of first-aid equipment and provide first aid when necessary.
  • Monitor drainage and canal conditions, coordinating pest control activities to prevent infestation.
  • Follow up on the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Increase health and safety awareness at all organizational levels within the company.

Incident Management and Training

  • Investigate and report all serious or critical personal injury accidents involving staff, visitors, or contractors.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents resulting in substantial damage to company properties.
  • Respond immediately to fires and other emergency situations, and address employee safety concerns.
  • Participate in evacuation drills and assist executive staff, senior administrators, principals, supervisors, and the HSE team leader during emergencies.
  • Coordinate the registration and removal of hazardous waste if any.
  • Conduct safety and first-aid on-the-job training for new recruits as required.
  • Coordinate the training of personnel in areas such as safety testing, first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, and workplace inspections.

Required Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) role.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and operational risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in maintaining HSE documentation and generating relevant reports, including corrective and preventive measures.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for training, incident response, and inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Ability to respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations and provide first aid.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Khamis Mushait, 'Asir, Saudi Arabia, within a dynamic industrial environment. The role requires a proactive approach to safety management and collaboration with various departments to ensure a secure and compliant workplace.
