About the Role

Al Salama Hospital is seeking a dedicated Paramedic - Emergency Medical Services to join its team in Rabigh. This permanent role involves providing safe, timely, and patient-centered emergency medical care in accordance with established hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Specialist / Paramedic is responsible for delivering effective emergency assessment, treatment, stabilization, and monitoring of patients. This includes ensuring safe transfer or handover of patients within the approved scope of practice, while consistently maintaining patient safety, professional standards, and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, professional, and ethical emergency medical services to patients.
• Assess, prioritize, treat, and stabilize patients during emergency response and transport, adhering to clinical protocols and hospital standards.
• Monitor patients' conditions and ensure safe transfer and handover to appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Identify, monitor, and manage clinical risks associated with direct patient care, reporting adverse events and patient safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and interventions, ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, collaborating to ensure coordinated emergency care.
• Maintain clinical knowledge and skills through continuous professional development and education, participating in training programs and workshops.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Medical Services, Paramedicine, or an equivalent qualification, along with graduation from a state-approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic training program.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Paramedic.
• Licensure: Valid professional classification and registration as a Paramedic with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• Certifications: Valid life support certifications, including BLS, ACLS, and PALS, as applicable.
• Desired: Experience in emergency medical services, ambulance operations, pre-hospital care, or hospital-based emergency response. Postgraduate qualification or additional certified training in emergency medical services, pre-hospital care, critical care, or a related field is also desired.

Professional Development

The role requires maintaining valid professional registration, certifications, and continuing education in accordance with SCFHS regulations. The Paramedic will stay updated on emergency medical technologies, clinical protocols, and evidence-based practices, contributing to the overall excellence in emergency medical services.
