About the Role

International Maritime Industries is seeking a full-time Inspector QC Structural to join their team in Ras Tannurah, Eastern Region. This role is crucial for ensuring that all structural construction activities, including fabrication and erection, are executed safely, effectively, and efficiently. The Inspector QC Structural will ensure adherence to applicable technical requirements, company policies, procedures, and Management System standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify the identity of structural materials (plate, beam, angle, etc.) and their conformity to installation drawings and required specifications.
  • Confirm that fit-up and welding inspections have been performed and joints have been released.
  • Verify that dimensions and alignment tolerances of structural components comply with permissible limits in construction specifications, drawings, and other applicable documents, utilizing advanced dimension check equipment such as EDM, theodolite, and dumpy level.
  • Conduct random surveillance, cross-verification, and in-process surveillance to ensure compliance with applicable and approved specifications, WPS, weld consumables, use of qualified welders, weld processes, and welder performance.
  • Identify project consumable needs and coordinate with the PSCM team to ensure timely ordering and proper management of consumable stock to prevent shortages.
  • Perform walkdown inspections and punch listing for structural components, verifying that punch list items are addressed according to contractual arrangements. Witness final acceptance of structures or associated items, including any applicable final tests as per the contract scope.
  • Complete and endorse all inspection records from initial inspection through final acceptance of various structural and associated work.
  • Maintain communication with the Client to ensure all contractual and code requirements are met within the inspection scope.
  • Determine and develop all necessary standards and procedures for performing inspections and tests, overseeing all testing methods while maintaining high quality standards for all processes.
  • Develop method statements for activities when necessary, including risk assessment, job safety & environmental analysis, Inspection & Test Plan, and Checklists based on project specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in structural construction inspection.
  • Demonstrated ability to verify material identity and conformance to specifications.
  • Proficiency in using dimension check equipment such as EDM, theodolite, and dumpy level.
  • Experience in conducting surveillance and cross-verification for compliance with welding specifications and procedures.
  • Capability to manage consumable needs and coordinate with procurement teams.
  • Strong understanding of walkdown inspections, punch listing, and final acceptance processes.
  • Ability to develop method statements, risk assessments, and inspection plans.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Ras Tannurah, Eastern Region, and involves working within a dynamic environment focused on maritime industries. The role requires active participation in ensuring the highest standards of structural integrity and safety.
