About the Role

Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residences is seeking a full-time Assistant Chief Engineer to join its team in Makkah. This role is central to overseeing the maintenance and repair of the physical building and its systems, directly contributing to the delivery of memorable guest experiences through effective hospitality operations.

Core Responsibilities

The Assistant Chief Engineer will support the Chief Engineer in managing all aspects of the engineering department. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a high-performing engineering team.
• Overseeing daily maintenance operations and ensuring timely resolution of service requests and emergencies.
• Ensuring the safety and compliance of all building and mechanical systems.
• Monitoring departmental performance and implementing improvements.
• Collaborating with hotel leadership on operational safety protocols.
• Supervising external contractors and inspecting their work.
• Leading property-wide energy efficiency initiatives.

Team Leadership and Development

A primary function of this role is to lead and develop the engineering team. This involves recruiting, training, supervising, and mentoring team members. The Assistant Chief Engineer will conduct performance evaluations, provide professional development opportunities, and recognize achievements to cultivate a motivated and highly effective team.

Engineering Operations and Compliance

The role requires active involvement in the daily operational management of engineering functions. Specific duties include:

• Assisting the Chief Engineer with managing daily maintenance operations, prioritizing tasks, and verifying completion through the property maintenance management system.
• Ensuring timely resolution of service requests, guest concerns, and emergencies.
• Overseeing the maintenance of the physical building, mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, and life safety systems.
• Coordinating inspections and upholding safety and compliance standards in line with national and local regulations.
• Assisting the Chief Engineer with driving engineering performance by monitoring departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including equipment upkeep, audit results, and team productivity, and taking necessary actions to improve performance.
• Supporting hotel-wide operational leadership through collaboration on evacuation procedures, duty manager coverage, and other safety protocols as needed.
• Supervising external contractors and inspecting completed work for quality and compliance.
• Supporting and overseeing property-wide energy conservation programs to reduce utility costs.
