About the Role

Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, is seeking a Cluster Director of Engineering to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and technical governance for the Engineering and Safety functions across its FRSS hotels in Makkah. This full-time role involves close collaboration with hotel leadership teams and stakeholders to ensure the reliability, safety, efficiency, and long-term sustainability of all engineering operations, assets, infrastructure, and building systems.

Key Responsibilities

The Cluster Director of Engineering is responsible for driving engineering performance, supporting business objectives, and ensuring that all properties maintain a safe, well-maintained, compliant, and guest-ready environment. Core responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic leadership and oversight for Engineering and Safety functions across FRSS hotels, aligning with operational objectives and brand standards.
• Enabling integrated operations and maintaining engineering governance frameworks, policies, and performance standards across FRSS hotels.
• Overseeing centralized shared functions such as Safety & Compliance, Central Store & Logistics, Workshops (Carpentry, Paint, MEP), PMP (Room Care Program), and the Engineering command center.
• Leading and mentoring the succession and development of Engineering leaders and teams through centralized coaching.
• Serving as an escalation path to ownership and asset management to streamline processes.
• Overseeing the effective operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of all building systems, utilities, and engineering assets.
• Ensuring uniform application of Accor technical standards and MEP/FLS compliance.
• Implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize asset reliability and operational efficiency.
• Monitoring engineering performance metrics and operational KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensuring specialized fire life safety, water hygiene, public health, and operational compliance regimes are implemented in line with KSA regulatory requirements.
• Coordinating maintenance, testing, inspection, and contractor support for engineering assets.
• Optimizing resource deployment, technical manpower, and specialist skills across FRSS hotels.
• Leading the development and execution of annual CAPEX plans, engineering budgets, and long-term asset replacement strategies.
• Overseeing engineering projects, renovations, upgrades, and new initiatives, ensuring delivery within approved budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for successful project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in engineering leadership within the hospitality sector.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant engineering leadership role.

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, requiring a commitment to maintaining high standards across multiple hotel properties.
