About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant Orthopaedics Lower Limb to provide specialized care within the ICC physical clinic. This part-time, in-person role is based in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on a broad range of hip, knee, ankle, and foot conditions. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, in-person lower limb orthopaedic care during scheduled part-time clinic sessions, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for acute and chronic conditions.
• Conduct thorough clinical evaluations, including history taking, physical and functional examinations, and review of relevant imaging findings.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, encompassing non-operative management, pre-operative work-up, and referrals as indicated.
• Manage common lower limb orthopaedic conditions such as fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, degenerative joint disease, and sports-related knee and ankle injuries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physiotherapy and podiatry, to ensure integrated, patient-centred care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to support seamless handover and continuity of care.
• Promote musculoskeletal health through preventive counselling and value-based care principles.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing clear guidance on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation.
• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based lower limb orthopaedics practice through continuous professional development.
• Contribute to clinical governance by participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and regulatory compliance programmes.

Professional Development and EHR Proficiency

• Continuously enhance clinical knowledge in lower limb orthopaedics and best practices through participation in conferences, workshops, and CME activities.
• Integrate the latest clinical evidence into practice to improve patient care quality, safety, and effectiveness.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the clinic's EHR system for efficient and well-documented consultations.
• Participate in ongoing training and adopt system enhancements to optimize performance and user experience.

Patient Safety and Satisfaction

• Uphold high standards of patient safety by delivering evidence-based care and adhering to established clinical safety protocols.
• Identify, report, and escalate patient safety risks, incidents, and quality concerns in accordance with organizational policies.
• Counsel patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, and potential adverse effects to support informed decision-making.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centred consultations through effective communication, comprehensive clinical assessment, and shared decision-making.

Collaboration with Healthcare Teams

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care and optimize clinical outcomes.
• Provide clinical expertise and recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making and integrated care planning.
• Facilitate clear and timely communication among healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Mentor and support junior physicians and healthcare professionals through clinical guidance and knowledge sharing.
