About the Role

MENA Consultant is seeking a Data Engineer – Cloudera for a 4-month contract engagement. This role is focused on supporting an existing Cloudera data platform and its associated data pipelines within the Makkah region, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah.

Project Overview

The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the data platform. This involves supporting ongoing operations, monitoring system performance, and performing maintenance tasks. The role also encompasses resolving operational issues, upholding data quality and security standards, and implementing necessary enhancements to maintain reliable platform operations throughout the project duration.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and support the day-to-day operations of the Cloudera data platform and associated data pipelines.
• Track batch and real-time job executions to ensure successful processing and data flow.
• Investigate operational issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Maintain platform availability and ensure compliance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Implement minor enhancements, fixes, and operational improvements to existing data pipelines.
• Monitor data quality and provide support for data validation activities.
• Manage user access requests and support data security and governance controls.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures for the platform.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, governance, and other data engineering teams to ensure reliable platform operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing platform stability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Engagement Details
