Manager Data Modeling

About the Role

Saudi Airlines is seeking a Manager Data Modeling to lead the design, development, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise data models. This full-time position is based in Makkah, specifically in Jeddah or Makkah, and is crucial for supporting business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Role Purpose

The Data Modeling Manager will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, engineers, and analytics teams. The primary objective is to ensure that data is structured, integrated, governed, and optimized effectively to meet both business and technical requirements, thereby enabling robust data utilization and strategic insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models across the organization.
• Define and maintain data modeling standards, methodologies, naming conventions, and best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective data models.
• Design scalable and high-quality data structures for data warehouses, data lakes, and analytical platforms.
• Ensure data models support business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and operational requirements.
• Review and approve data models developed by data architects, analysts, and engineers.
• Establish data relationships, entities, attributes, keys, hierarchies, and business rules.
• Ensure alignment between data models, enterprise architecture, data governance, and information management strategies.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, optimize, and improve existing data models and data structures.
• Work closely with Data Engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of data models.
• Support data governance initiatives by ensuring consistency, accuracy, integrity, and traceability of data.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, definitions, metadata, and data lineage.
• Lead data modeling projects and manage priorities, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data modeling and data architecture teams.
• Evaluate new data modeling approaches, technologies, and industry best practices.
• Ensure data models comply with organizational policies, security requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in data modeling or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in designing and managing enterprise data models.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and analytical platform architectures.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools and methodologies.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within Saudi Airlines, based in the Makkah region, with primary locations in Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves working collaboratively with various technical and business teams to drive data strategy and implementation.
