Procurement Category Lead

About the Role

Petromin Corporation is seeking a Procurement Category Lead to join their team in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on developing and executing category sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and efficiency targets across various procurement categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for assigned categories in alignment with company objectives.
• Conduct market analysis to understand trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing benchmarks.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting processes to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and legal, to align procurement activities with business objectives.
• Monitor and manage category spend to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value creation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide regular updates and reports on category performance and project status to senior management.

Budget and Compliance

The Procurement Category Lead is responsible for monitoring and managing the procurement budget for assigned categories, ensuring cost-effective practices. The role also involves ensuring strict compliance with procurement policies and procedures, and continuously working to improve procurement processes.

Reporting and Performance

This role requires the preparation and presentation of regular reports on procurement activities, including achieved cost savings, supplier performance, and market trends related to the assigned categories. Key performance indicators include cost savings achieved, onboarding and managing commercial relationships with suppliers, and compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

Stakeholder Engagement

As an individual contributor, this position does not involve direct people management but requires significant collaboration and stakeholder management with various departments, including end-users and service requestors, to align procurement activities with broader business objectives.
