About Parsons and the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves assisting and advising project or program managers in ensuring that site-specific Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) plans, workplaces, and operational tasks conform to Parsons' risk management practices and comply with prevailing regulatory and client SH&E requirements.

Role Context and Contribution

Operating under the general oversight of an SH&E Manager, the Senior Safety Engineer will contribute to Parsons' mission of connecting people, systems, and cities through resilient infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the PMC HSE Manager in carrying out SH&E functions across multiple infrastructure and building construction projects within a program management framework.
• Advise and support the most senior construction site representative in establishing and managing ESHARP Management and Parsons SH&E processes, including identifying and eliminating or controlling hazards to persons and property.
• Develop site-specific work plans, SH&E compliance programs, training programs, and orientation plans that fully conform to relevant SH&E regulations, Parsons’ ESHARP management system, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with SH&E and project and program managers to evaluate contractors’ SH&E performance, planning, and culture to ensure consistency with the company’s risk management practices and core values.
• Audit projects, programs, and their worksites against corporate and client standards; detect and correct safety hazards, and create and submit written audit reports.
• Implement Parsons’ occupational injury and incident reporting and management processes.
• Initiate and conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses using secure protocols.
• Perform trend analyses on audit findings, inspection findings, and incident reports; create and submit regular analysis reports.
• Represent the program SH&E manager on project or program worksites as appropriate.
• Supervise emergency response teams and first aid personnel in providing services during emergency situations and to occupationally injured or ill personnel.
• Prepare and review audit and inspection reports, as well as OSH statistics reports and presentations.
• Represent management during safety inspections of the job site by regulatory authorities or company insurance carriers.
• Provide oversight to Parsons’ new hire safety orientation process and other safety-related training.
• Review risk assessments for upcoming work and provide technical assistance to the safety planning process.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Senior Safety Engineer position are expected to have 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant safety engineering role. This experience should demonstrate a capability to manage and implement comprehensive safety, health, and environmental programs within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.

Work Environment and Reporting

This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and involves working across various project sites. The Senior Safety Engineer will report to a Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager, contributing to a collaborative environment focused on project delivery and safety excellence.
