Role Overview: Senior Electrical Engineer

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team in Neom, Tabuk, or Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires over 10 years of experience and focuses on providing technical leadership during the closeout and handover phase of a significant water infrastructure program. The role involves overseeing the completion, commissioning, closeout, and handover of electrical engineering scope for major water infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the completion, testing, commissioning, closeout, and handover of electrical systems for water transmission infrastructure, pumping stations, treatment facilities, substations, and related assets.
• Review outstanding electrical works, identify completion gaps and risks, and coordinate recovery actions to meet project closeout milestones.
• Verify that electrical installations comply with approved designs, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, and electrical safety procedures.
• Review and resolve outstanding technical queries, punch-list items, non-conformance reports, design changes, concessions, and contractor action items.
• Coordinate factory and site acceptance testing, system energization, functional testing, integrated systems testing, reliability testing, and performance demonstrations.
• Review commissioning records, test results, electrical safety documentation, energization procedures, protection settings, inspection reports, and final acceptance evidence.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical, process, civil, structural, instrumentation, control, SCADA, telecommunications, and operations teams to ensure system integration and operational readiness.
• Review and verify closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, approved design changes, operation and maintenance manuals, asset registers, spare-parts records, warranties, training records, and equipment certificates.
• Support final inspections, asset acceptance, contractor demobilization, operational readiness, and the formal transfer of electrical systems to the client and operations teams.
• Provide technical leadership, resolve complex electrical issues, mentor junior engineers, and maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to lead completion, commissioning, closeout, and handover phases of electrical engineering projects.
• Proficiency in verifying electrical installations against designs, specifications, safety requirements, and client expectations.
• Strong coordination skills to work with contractors, consultants, commissioning teams, and operations representatives.
• Experience in resolving technical issues, closing defects, and verifying project records.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Saudi Arabia, with opportunities in Neom, Tabuk, and Riyadh. The role requires regular attendance at a Jacobs workplace.
